Well, we need to fix existing lives -and prepare to fix the future lives- of our citizens. If the USA doesn't advance Stem Cell Research another country will. How does that position the USA as a global competitor? How does that position the USA for a new job market segment? Poorly.

I understand part of the larger game that is being played : If he did not veto this, he would not be able to easily govern the conservative base in his administration. And all the other bullshit that's involved.
